The Kwara state governor Abdurrahman Abdurrazaq in the “O to ge” manifesto promised the “immediate establishment of Kwara state Integrated Rural Development Bureau” which will oversee his government development drive in the rural areas. Most of the Kwara north senatorial district settlements are rural areas which will benefit immensely from the establishment of the Rural Development Bureau

This bureau creation will help the government bridge the gap in rural development by partnering with local government authorities to bring infrastructural and social development to the rural areas in the state and also monitor progress made.

Three years after his inauguration the bureau the governor promised to create has not been created, the status quo concerning rural development have been maintained. The blueprint he [gov. Abdurrazaq] envisioned for Kwara rural development has been jeopardized by his government’s inability to create the bureau.

The governor’s promise of “immediate establishment of Kwara state Integrated Rural Development Bureau” is considered broken, as at the time of this compilation the bureau has not been created and the time remaining till the governor’s first term elapse is not enough for the bureau to carry out its intended task.
