His Excellency, Prof Charles Soludo, the current governor of Anambra State, in his manifesto, promised to spend about a billion Naira in investments to modernize a few strategic transmission lines and realign connections and transformers, thereby increasing the amount of electricity provided to 18 hours a day in key locations.

Asides from the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in March earlier this year with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) to ensure that power supply in Anambra is available 24 hours a day, the Governor also unveiled the construction of a 132KV power station at Umuekete Igboezunu Aguleri, in Anambra East Local Government Area of the state.

No amount has yet been specified for the Umuekete Igboezunu Aguleri power station project, but with the details of construction for any other key location in the state not being revealed, we will rate this promise as In the Works.
